Dr. Miguel Cabral was born in Cördoba, Argentina. He received a Bachelor of Science from Colegio Nacional Deån Funes and a Medical Degree from Cordoba University in 1960.

After medical school, he briefly went into private practice in Tucuman, Argentina.

In 1962 he came to the U.S. for training in internal medicine. Dr. Cabral completed an internship at Barberton Citizens Hospital, and later moved to Houston, Texas for his residency in internal medicine and cardiology at the Scott and White Clinic and Baylor Medical School.

In 1967, Dr. Cabral relocated to Schenectady, New York as a teaching fellow at Ellis Hospital. Under the direction of Dr. Frank Giknis. He contributed to the development of the hospital’s CCU and PCU, including the implementation of the Cardiac Team. With Dr. Morris Shapiro he opened a private cardiology practice in 1971 , and later associated with Dr. Giknis.  In 1982 Dr. Paul Dworkin joined him in practice after the retirements of Dr. Giknis and Shapiro.  Dr. Cabral was beloved by his patients and the hospital staff.  He was dedicated to his patients and always provided a smile and a laugh.    Dr. Cabral joined Cardiology Associates of Schenectady in 1996.  He was instrumental in the care of the patients recovering from Cardiac Surgery.  He retired from practice in 2008.
