Dr. Paul Dworkin earned a Bachelor and Science and Master in Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While a student at RPI, he met his wife, Barbara, a Niskayuna native. He complete his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. In 1982 joining Dr. Miguel Cabral in practice in Schenectady. When he arrived in Schenectady he took on former patients of Drs. Giknis and Shapiro. He joined Dr. Nolan, Parkes, Long, Armenia, Wright, Lindenberg, Vakiener and Manor to form Cardiology Associates of Schenectady in 1990.
Dr. Dworkin was the first cardiologist in the region to be trained in the interpretation of carotid ultrasound. He developed the carotid program for Cardiology Associates which became available to patients in all of their offices. In addition to his strong clinical skills, he has also been instrumental in providing Cardiac MRI for our patients.
Dr. Dworkin’s patients never feel rushed and can be confident that all of their concerns will be addressed. He is known for his keen intellect, his attention to detail and his sense of humor.
In addition to his practice in Schenectady, Dr. Dworkin was instrumental in building a Cardiology practice in Gloversville.
Dr. Dworkin retired from Cardiology Associates of Schenectady in 2019.
