Dr. Giovannone graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University with a degree in Biological Engineering.  He earned his Medical Degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.  He went on to New York University School of Medicine to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine, Fellowship in cardiology, and subsequently Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology.  During his time at NYU,  he received a grant award through the New York Academy of Medicine allowing him to complete a post-doctoral research fellowship investigating mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Echocardiography.  Dr. Giovannone joined Drs. Vassolas and Joy in the electrophysiology division of Cardiology Associates of Schenectady in 2015. Dr. Giovannone provides full electrophysiological services at Ellis Hospital and the offices of Cardiology Associates of Schenectady. Along with Dr. Madiraju and Dr. Parikh he has developed a Watchman program for patients with atrial fibrillation.
