Dr. Steven Weitz attended Franklin and Marshall College followed by New York University Medical School. He remained at NYU for his internship and residency in Internal Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at NYU as well.
Dr. Weitz joined Cardiology Associates in 2000 after practicing Interventional Cardiology in Stamford, Connecticut.
Dr. Weitz joined Drs. Parkes, Jordan and Cospito providing acute and elective coronary intervention at Ellis Hospital. Dr. Weitz along with Dr. Joy led the effort to set up systems to more successfully treat patients suffering heart attacks. For this he was chosen USA Today’s Best Cardiologist.
In addition to his expertise in the catheterization laboratory, Dr. Weitz is compassionate clinician. He has been one of the few cardiologist in the region fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Weitz along with Dr. Peterson and Manor is developing a coronary CT program. He has brought several clinical trials to the patients in the area including the multinational ISCHEMIA trial.
