He graduated cum laude and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his internship at Medical College of Virginia. After completing his fellowship in Cardiology at Boston University, he and Dr. Vacca started a Cardiology Practice in a small office on McClellan Street in 1983.

Their practice grew rapidly with the addition of Dr. Arthur Vakiener in 1985 and Dr. Denis Manor in 1987.  They were the first Cardiology practice in the region to hire a physician assistant when the hired Catherine (Howard) Hagan in 1986.

Drs. Lindenberg, Vakiener, and Manor along with Catherine Hagan joined with Drs. Nolan, Parkes, Long, Armenia, Wright and Dworkin to form Cardiology Associates of Schenectady in 1990.  Dr. Lindenberg was elected Vice President in 1990, a position which he held until his retirement.  Dr. Lindenberg had worked with Dr. Paul Levine, a world renowned expert in cardiac pacemakers during his fellowship.  They collaborated on several papers in Dr. Lindenberg’s early years in practice.  Dr. Lindenberg became a local authority on physiological pacing and office based pacemaker analysis and programming. He hired and trained Catherine (Howard) Hagan and together developed the first pacemaker clinic.

Dr. Lindenberg had a particular interest in teaching and echocardiography.  He relished his time teaching family practice residents at St. Clare’s and Ellis Hospital.   In 1984 he established a regional monthly echocardiographic conference over which he presided until his retirement.  He was medical director of the echo lab at St. Clare’s Hospital, Cardiology Associates and Ellis Hospital   He brought trans esophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography to the community in 1989.    In 1995 Cardiology Associates began providing echocardiographic services in their office. Their echocardiographic laboratory had the premiere stress echo service and was one of the first in the region with digital echo.

Dr. Lindenberg conceived of an electronic medical record in mid 1990’s.  He worked with Community Computer Services in Auburn, NY to make this a reality.  Cardiology Associates was one of the first practices in the country with an EMR using its last paper chart in 1999.  The practice was the first in the region to offer electronic prescribing and a patient portal. He along with their practice administrator, Donna Meyers, developed an IT department which allowed Cardiology Associates to remain on the cutting edge of medical technology.

Dr. Lindenberg was honored with the Spirit of Healing Award from St. Clare’s Hospital in 2006. He retired from practice in 2015 to relocate near his children and grandchildren in southern California.
